The Scoop amphitheatre at More London is an art and performance area next to City Hall which has a free film festival in September and this week is showing Still Alice (Tue 22 Sep), Zoolander (Wed 23 Sep) and The Sound of Music (Thur 24th). All screenings start at 7.30pm, all are free and entry is first-come, first-served.
7.30pm, Thursday 23 September
Scoop, More London
Things to bring
- Something waterproof to sit on, for added comfort (the seats are a bit granite-y) a cushion or similar might be a good idea (you can also hire these)
- Something to keep you covered, and warm. Sitting outside once the sun has gone done can be a bit chilly and it might rain
- Food / drink – you can buy this on-site (there’s also a nearby Marks & Spencer, other shops are available too) and you can bring a picnic (but not anything in glass)
The Scoop amphitheatre is literally right next to City Hall, you can see it on Google maps here (Scoop is to the right of the map marker for More London Estates) and here’s a map of the estate and travel connections.
London Bridge is the nearest rail or tube station and, if you’re arriving by Thames Clipper ferry it’s London Bridge City pier. Note that Scoop’s also very close to Tower Bridge too so Tower Hill station and pier are fairly close by but on the opposite side of the river so you’d need to walk over the bridge to get to the venue.
