The BBC has been screening the third series of Sherlock on BBC One and tonight at 8.30pm it’s the season finale ‘His Last Vow’ which won seven Emmy awards, including one for the amazing music from David Arnold and Michael Price. The two composers are also working together on Charlie Higson’s Jekyll and Hyde for ITV which screens later this year.

Mark Gatiss will be a special guest at the Shetland-based ‘Screenplay’ festival curated by Mark Kermode and others (here is Mark K writing about the festival in 2010, it sounds brilliant). There will be a screening of Mark G’s remarkable An Adventure in Space and Time followed by a Q&A with him and then a late-night screening of his adaptation of MR James’ ghost story The Tractate Middoth (music from David Arnold and Michael Price too).
