Since January the Prince Charles Cinema has been screening, in order, all of the James Bond films and this weekend will have the first of the five films that David Arnold scored. They are showing each Sunday evening at 8.30pm as part of the 007 Retrospective.
Sunday 24 May 8:30pm – Tomorrow Never Dies
Sunday 31 May 8:30pm – The World Is Not Enough
Sunday 07 Jun 8:30pm – Die Another Day
Sunday 14 Jun 8:30pm – Casino Royale
Sunday 21 Jun 8:30pm – Quantum of Solace
The series continues with Skyfall (directed by Sam Mendes who works with the composer Thomas Newman) and then the PCC will re-screen a few of the earlier films out of sequence, so if you’ve missed them there’s another chance.

David Arnold is also performing at another two events in June. One is quite small – he’s a musical guest at ‘Not so Silent Movies‘ at the Electric Cinema in Notting Hill at 2.30pm on Sunday 7 June where he’ll be playing with their regular musicians to create a live score for some silent films.
In other words you can hear and watch films that David Arnold’s scored twice on Sunday 7 June, in some sort of David Arnold Day 🙂
The other event is quite large. David, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and some special guests will be performing some of his music from film, television, Made in Dagenham the Musical, and the Olympics 2012 Closing Ceremonies at the Barbican Centre on Thursday 18 June. There will be a ticket giveaway coming soon.
This is part of a series of concerts in 2015 of his music – there are also concerts coming up in Birmingham (26 June) and Nottingham (28 June) with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO). David is also the guest of Ludwig Wicki who will be conducting the 21st Century Orchestra in Lucerne, Switzerland later this year (23 October) at a concert celebrating ‘The music of David Arnold‘.
